Deadly Mix Vol. One
2025-06-15
“Music fuels the madness — especially when you’re deep in the zone.”
In our studio, sound is more than just a backdrop — it’s a force. A catalyst. A compass. Each track in this mix was there as we hand-stitched, pattern-drafted, sculpted, and envisioned what would become our first luxury objects of 2025.

This is the first of our monthly Deadly Mixes — living playlists that form the emotional pulse of what we create at osunakvn. These songs carry intention, history, and heat. They remind us why we make — to feel, to question, to transcend.
Music keeps us grounded in reality but opens portals to something more — a place where design choices aren’t just aesthetic, but emotional, intuitive, human.
Here’s the soundtrack that helped bring our latest work to life:
This month’s Deadly Mix is a late-night soundtrack for designing, cutting, or just dreaming:
Deadly Mix Vol. One
Here’s the full playlist that helped shape our designs:
- The Time is Now – Moloko
Urgent and hypnotic — this was the energy we needed while finalizing product photography for the upcoming store launch. Every snare hit pushed us to focus, to act boldly. It’s a sonic jolt of nowness, and we ride it like a wave.
- Black Steel – Tricky
A powerful reinterpretation of strength and resistance. This song played on loop as we experimented with nontraditional materials for our jewelry line — steel, stone, and tension. Its grit helped us channel something feral and elegant at once.
- DARE – Gorillaz
A manic shot of dopamine. This was on full blast during our garment dye tests, staining samples by hand, trying to coax unexpected tones from fabric. A reminder that creation is part risk, part chaos, part instinct.
- Immigrant Boogie – Ghostpoet
A song about the struggles of migration. It is a reminder that we’re not alone, and that we’re not alone in the world. It’s a song of solidarity.
Every piece we create contains layers — not just textures, but histories. This track was present during deep work: sourcing stories, building moodboards, and crafting pieces that nod to displacement, survival, and hope.
- 🕊️ The Spoils – Massive Attack
An elegy in slow motion. This track accompanied moments of stillness — final product inspection, editorial planning, the quieter phases where we check every detail. It demands attention, and so do our products.
- Little by Little – Oasis
A song about gradual change, redemption, and self-awareness. This track reminds us that creation is rarely explosive — it’s about the tiny victories in the studio. We played this during long fittings, adjusting curves and seams until everything just… felt right.
- Cruz de Navajas – Mecano
A Spanish ballad with haunting storytelling. This one played during long sketching sessions, and somehow every curve of the line was slower, more considered. It taught us to let the materials speak first — we just follow.
- The Carnival is Over – Dead Can Dance
This song is ceremonial. It closes things. We play it as a ritual when a product is finally done. A melancholic reminder that beauty is fleeting and that every piece we make will soon live its own story, away from our hands.
- Silver Snail – Pixies
Odd, sticky, and strangely comforting. A nighttime favorite while editing product copy and fine-tuning site typography. It reminds us to not over-polish — to leave just enough rawness in everything.
- 🖤 Song to Say Goodbye – Placebo
Heavy, raw, and honest. We don’t just create to impress — we create to express. This one echoed through our workshop the night we discarded an entire collection idea that didn’t feel aligned. Mourning it. Letting go. Starting fresh.
Let the digital needle drop and the ideas flow.
⬛ The Mix Lives On
This mix doesn’t just fill the silence — it shapes the energy. It’s why our workspace is never quiet. Every product in our store has felt the presence of these songs. Every stitch, fold, polish, and frame is touched by sound.
